Call for Proposals – City of Edinburgh Council • Diversity and Inclusion Fund (2025/26)

Edinburgh‑based artists and creative organisations with protected characteristics are invited to submit proposals for supported bursaries and collaboration grant awards under the 2025/26 Diversity and Inclusion Fund.

Applicants must demonstrate how their project meets two or more of the following criteria:

• Recognise the need for greater representation and visibility of work and narratives in the arts, culture and heritage sector.
• Have a clear vision for the project, its outcomes and learning.
• Present a mutually beneficial partnership or collaborative working model.
• Commit to continuing and/or increasing engagement with groups and communities often underrepresented in the arts and culture sector.
• Explain how the project is relevant to Edinburgh’s cultural tapestry.
• Consider how the project creates further opportunities for development and engagement.

Additionally, projects must align with at least two of the following funding priorities:

• Meaningful artist/practitioner‑led involvement and direction in project development and delivery.

• Imaginative and/or experimental creative concept.
• Partnership/collaboration working – a City and Culture Plan funding priority.
• Use and promotion of languages as a means of expressing one’s cultural background.
• Use of multiple art forms within projects.
• Planned demonstrable learning and/or impact from the project activity.
• Development of creative platforms for displaced artists and communities living in Edinburgh celebrating diverse cultures and heritages.
• Consideration for multiple characteristics and identities often underrepresented in the arts and culture sector.
