About the role

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. This is a committed role full of everyday challenges and variety, requiring flexibility and dedication.

Availability windows
  • Sunday — 05:30 – 12:30
  • Monday — 05:30 – 12:30
  • Thursday — 15:00 – 23:15
  • Saturday — 05:30 – 12:30

We schedule your contracted hours within these times and give you three weeks’ notice of your shifts. We support flexibility, so if your availability aligns closely with the advertised times, we welcome your application.

Responsibilities
  • Provide great natural service and serve customers with passion and pride.
  • Be knowledgeable about products and services within the store.
  • Work across the store, including service, picking and replenishment areas.
  • Apply training to work safely, effectively and deliver brilliant service.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers and deliver store routines on time.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understand store performance and contribute to service, sales, waste reduction and shrink minimisation.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality.
  • Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and follow our policies.
  • Accept deliveries into the store when required.
