Qualifications

Description

Join LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, and play a key role in supporting local businesses through trusted regional news brands and innovative advertising solutions. This is a consultative, telephone-based sales role where you’ll engage directly with business owners and decision-makers across the county.

You’ll take time to understand each client’s goals before recommending tailored advertising strategies from our digital display and print portfolio. Every conversation is an opportunity to build rapport, solve problems, and deliver solutions that drive real results for local businesses.

Whether you’re an experienced sales professional or at the start of your career, we’ll support you with the training, tools, and guidance you need to succeed. To be considered, you must live within commuting distance of our Basildon office and be available Monday–Friday during office hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and win new business by proactively contacting potential clients through cold calling and outbound sales activity.
  • Work to clear financial targets and KPIs, consistently aiming to exceed monthly revenue and performance goals.
  • Manage and grow existing client accounts, providing ongoing support and spotting opportunities to upsell and increase client spend.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline, using a consultative approach to move prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Build long‑term, trusted relationships with clients by delivering expert advice and excellent service.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and successful delivery of client campaigns.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to remain competitive.
  • Represent LOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility as an ambassador for our regional news brands.

  • Understanding of multimedia advertising (digital and print) is beneficial, though full training is provided.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to commute to the Basildon office daily.
