W Christie (Ind) Ltd are a manufacturer and supplier of torque tooling and bespoke engineered solutions suppling into a range of key UK industries, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, Utilities, and Manufacturing.

We are looking to successfully increase our client base and sales in Scotland.

Our activities cover a range of torque tooling and accessories, as well as promoting standard tooling. The role is increasingly one of consultation and providing engineered solutions. Which in turn are turned into reality by our Design and Engineering teams at our Rotherham base.

We have an impressive client list that includes major organisations and household names, and we are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to support and promote the development of W. Christie's expertise in providing torque tooling and engineered solutions.

The Role:

This role has been developed to establish and manage requirements of all clients throughout Scotland.

You will be the technical and commercial link between new clients, existing clients, and W. Christie’s industrial division.

The role will be working from early involvement, on site and survey application requirements, moving to an offer of solution and pricing; following up to win business, and conducting handovers once a project is completed.

You will use your knowledge of the Engineering sector, and the capabilities of W. Christie, to win business by developing and maintaining a pipeline of business opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Produce high quality, technically accurate, application analysis in support of client projects
  • Understand and be able to sell innovative solutions
  • Understand engineering market needs and translate these into areas of opportunity for W. Christie
  • Develop and maintain a strong client network and key client relationships
  • Collaborate with relevant internal functions to ensure W. Christie’s design offerings demonstrate compliance to technical requirements
  • Attend design review meetings and provide accurate site details to assist the design process
  • Provide technical bid submissions
Your Skills and Experience:
  • 5 or more years hands on professional engineering experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Proven track record of applying technical knowledge and a broad understanding of a range of industries
  • The ability to accurately assess site restrictions, take and document measurements, and report your findings
  • Good business awareness and an understanding of commercial issues
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience of dealing with clients
  • Calm and diplomatic mindset
  • Design engineering experience would be advantageous
Your Location:

Applicants for the role should currently reside in Scotland, and ideally be situated to allow travel to either coast.

Due to the nature of the role and the travelling involved we will not consider applications from anyone who does not reside in Scotland.

In addition, there will be periodic visits required to our Rotherham offices.
