Job description

When you work for the University of Lancashire, you’ll be part of a thriving community of talent that’s united in a common commitment to transform lives. We do this by delivering an outstanding educational experience and creating prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Whatever your role, you’ll be playing a vital part in helping us achieve our vision.

About the role:

To act as a key member of the Product and Delivery team, supporting the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the University’s digital capabilities. The Technical Business Analyst will work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team, undertaking requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design for projects and products. The role will champion user‑centred analysis, agile delivery, and evidence‑based decision‑making, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring feasibility and alignment with architectural standards.

A key focus of the role will be supporting system and data integrations across the University’s digital ecosystem. This includes working closely with developers, and other product teams to analyse integration needs, map data flows, define API and messaging requirements, and ensure robust, secure, and scalable interoperability between systems.

About you:

The role will also benefit from strong technical literacy, particularly the ability to interrogate and interpret data using SQL and NoSQL databases, validate assumptions using real data, and support effective solution design through a solid understanding of data structures, integration patterns, and platform capabilities. Applicants will need to have a relevant business or systems‑based degree, or equivalent experiential learning. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills are also a must together with excellent communication skills and organisation skills.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives. We also offer a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits – from an attractive annual leave entitlement to access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform.
