A leading food manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure compliance with food safety standards and quality control procedures. The ideal candidate will conduct thorough daily checks, manage internal audits, and effectively communicate quality issues. Experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing is preferred.
To report to the Technical Manager on overall conformance with the Company’s Assurance objectives.
To act conscientiously, prioritizing the Company interests and encouraging others to do so.
To communicate effectively with superiors and subordinates.
To report any breakdown or failure in the Quality Control procedures that results in failure to meet specifications or food safety standards.
To perform thorough and detailed daily compliance checks within each factory department, reporting non-conformances directly to managers and supervisors.
To conduct internal audits of Glass & Hard Plastic, Maintenance, GMP, Locker checks, Paperwork audits, and staff handwashing as per the schedule.
To collect DNA Swabs twice a week and send them to IDENTIGEN via TNT / FEDEX.
To monitor temperatures daily, including air temperature.
To conduct weekly data logger tests on offals and beef in chills.
To file and store all quality management paperwork for easy retrieval during audits.
To perform pre-operation hygiene checks in the abattoir & boning hall daily.
To collect and collate micro samples (carcase swabs, water samples, environmental swabs, meat samples, shelf life samples) for lab testing, ensuring results are printed, inspected, and trends are monitored.
To verify all probes & thermometers monthly.
To conduct site PACCP pH testing daily in chills and the cutting room.
To perform internal audits of the Quality Assurance Manual, Operational Procedure Manual, BRC System, HACCP, Factory Fabric, Cleaning, and Hygiene as scheduled.
To verify compliance and completion of factory quality paperwork.
To maintain site calibration certifications and organize calibration of equipment when due.
To assist with traceability exercises as required by customers and scheduled internally.
To ensure non-conformances identified during audits are addressed within the agreed timeframe.
To maintain the supplier and service provider approval list within the three-year cycle and approve new suppliers promptly.
To handle customer complaints promptly, investigating root causes where possible.
To issue, rescind, and verify quality documentation used on site.
To ensure food safety practices are incorporated into daily production.
To ensure daily production checks and QA sheets are completed accurately and timely.
To audit products and verify compliance with specifications, including duties under the HACCP plan.
To record and calculate data manually or via computer, including administration and filing.
To ensure internal audits are accurate and conducted on schedule.
To collaborate with onsite customer and third-party auditors.
To provide technical support such as visits, audits, and trials as required.
To carry out other reasonable requests by management and support the Technical Manager as needed.
