What you will do:

  • Oversee assessment and case management services, utilising the Asset Plus framework to supervise and support children and young people referred by Court and Police.
  • Advise on strategic areas of specialism, driving the development of innovative policies and procedures to enhance best practices within Youth Justice.
  • Manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team, ensuring staff are motivated, nurtured, and continually improving their skills.
  • Represent the Service Manager at meetings and events, contributing to the development of key strategic plans and liaising with local Youth Justice partners.
  • Compile and present reports on policy and operational issues, driving transparency and informed decision‑making within the service.
  • Ensure compliance with legislations like the Crime and Disorder Act and Youth Justice National Standards.

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Degree in social work or equivalent, with current Social Work England registration.
  • Recent managerial experience in comparable roles, such as Team Manager or Deputy Team Manager within Adults or Children’s Services.
  • Significant frontline experience in managing teams within Youth Justice environments.
