DC Band 6 (NJC point 14-17) actual salary £22,953 to £24,105

Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of eight Academies and one Sixth Form across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire area serving a population in excess of 1000 students aged 5 to 19 with a broad range of learning difficulties.

The Meadows Academy has recently joined Horizons Specialist Academy Trust and caters for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. Many of our young people live across County Durham and in some cases further afield.

We strive to create a sense of belonging where our pupils feel they are valued and respected, and an environment where all can make progress and succeed.

We are currently seeking outstanding, creative and enthusiastic teaching assistants to join our team at The Meadows. The right candidates will need to be inspirational with high expectations of our students and themselves.

Previous experience of working with students with SEMHD would be desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential requirements of this post.
