Overview

At Springwood Primary School we are constantly striving to create the best learning opportunities for every pupil. We aim to provide a specialist, high quality, relevant and balanced education for pupils with SEND aged 5 - 11. We are seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our Springwood Belvedere Team. Springwood is a large primary age Special School (360 pupils aged 5-11) based over five sites, which caters for pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs. Springwood Primary School is part of The LINK Education Trust. We have an exciting opportunity to join a large and lively school and be part of its future developments.

Responsibilities

• Support primary age children with complex needs to achieve their potential.
• Ensure that all pupils are included and supported to develop, regardless of their special educational needs or behaviour challenges.
• Work as part of a team to provide an appropriate learning environment for pupils.
• Learn new skills and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Demonstrate previous experience of working with young people of school age who may present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an educational setting.
• Participate in tasks and activities as part of the selection process, including a class-based task, an ICT task and a panel interview (for shortlisted candidates).

Requirements / Qualifications

• Ability to support pupils with complex needs in a primary setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; this post is subject to a fully enhanced DBS check.
• We will not be accepting candidates who require sponsorship for this position.
