A local primary school in North East England is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. This role involves supporting individual children and small groups, contributing to classroom activities, and ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning. The ideal candidate should possess excellent classroom skills, be reliable, and work well within a team. The position is temporary and term-time only, starting in January 2026.
Grade 3 £25,185 - £25,989 (pro rata)
Temporary, Term time only plus 2 weeks
Part time, 9.00am-3.30pm, 30 hours per week
Required from January 2026 until 31 August 2026
We are looking to appoint an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our teaching team in EYFS to support individuals and possibly small groups where required throughout the day.

Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 48 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
