About the Role

Bassingbourn Village College, part of Anglian Learning, is seeking an inspiring and committed Teacher of Science to join our thriving and forward-thinking school community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to shape engaging learning experiences, contribute to curriculum development, and support pupils to achieve exceptional outcomes. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality Science teaching and driving positive progress across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and inclusive Science lessons.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and departmental strategy.
  • Track pupil progress, set clear targets, and implement effective interventions where needed.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour for learning and uphold school behaviour policies.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Take part in whole-school events such as Open Evenings and Parents’ Evenings.
  • Engage actively in professional development and contribute to ongoing school improvement.
  • Support pupils with guidance on options, future pathways, and progression.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to drive continuous improvement.
