Teacher of Geography – Shaftesbury School & Sports College

Salary: Main Teachers’ Pay Scales: M1 – M6
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Geography to join our dedicated Humanities department. Applications are welcome from both ECTs and experienced teachers. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on students’ understanding of the world around them.

We’re looking for an individual who:

  • Has a passion for teaching Geography and inspiring students.
  • Can deliver high-quality, engaging, thought-provoking lessons across Key Stage 4 and 5 that spark curiosity about people, places, and environments.
  • Contributes to trips, enrichment activities, and the wider school community.
  • Has excellent communication skills, and can contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking department.
  • Can build relationships quickly.
  • Believes every student can succeed and works hard to make it happen.
  • Brings energy, enthusiasm, and high expectations.

We are looking for someone with high expectations who is able to motivate and organise. We seek someone who will go the extra mile and can make a substantial and sustained contribution to the school team and beyond. The school has an Alternative Provision on site for students who struggle with the mainstream lesson setting and these are fully staffed.
