The Role

We’re looking for a Talent Researcher to build and fuel the top of the hiring funnel during one of Flux’s most critical periods of growth. We’re scaling from 25 to 90+ people in the next 6 months across software, hardware, optics, commercial, and operations.

You’ll work closely with leadership, hiring managers, and the People & Operations teams to identify, engage, and activate exceptional talent across multiple hard-to-hire disciplines. You’ll be responsible for designing sourcing strategies, developing market intelligence, and delivering a steady stream of qualified candidates who convert into hires. You’ll also help build the systems, tools, and best practices that allow us to source smarter and faster as we scale.

This role is based in our Kings Cross, London office and is 5 days a week in person.

Responsibilities
  • Own top-of-funnel sourcing across priority roles (engineering, technical leadership, operations, commercial), ensuring a consistent pipeline of high‑calibre candidates.

  • Build and execute creative, scalable sourcing strategies across the globe, including outbound campaigns, talent mapping, community engagement, and referrals.

  • Conduct first‑touch candidate assessments to ensure strong alignment before handing over to recruiters.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, ideal profiles, and market realities; advise on strategy and expectations.

  • Uphold best‑in‑class candidate engagement; your outreach and communication should reflect our values and set the tone for the full hiring journey.

  • Build and maintain talent pools for repeat or future hiring needs, ensuring we’re never starting from zero.

  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives by identifying where top talent spends time and shaping how we show up in those communities.

  • Help refine sourcing processes, tooling, and reporting to scale with the business.
    Manage relationships with external sourcing partners and ensure they deliver consistently high‑quality output.

Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of sourcing experience, ideally within high‑growth tech, deep tech, or hardware‑centric environments.

  • Demonstrated success finding top technical talent: whether that’s ML engineers, digital designers, systems architects, or similarly specialised profiles.

  • Strong sourcing instincts and fluency with modern tools, boolean strategies, and creative research methods.

  • Confident partnering with senior stakeholders and translating ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable sourcing plans.

  • Highly organised and responsive; you maintain clean data, tight loops, and predictable output.

  • Passionate about building exceptional candidate experiences from the very first touchpoint.
