A leading defence organisation is seeking a Systems Engineering Lead in Stevenage, England. This role involves driving best practices in Systems Engineering, providing consultancy-style support, and fostering team development. Ideal candidates will have a broad experience in Systems Engineering, understanding of MBSE methodologies, and stakeholder management experience. Location: Stevenage, England, United Kingdom
Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience.
Employment type: Full‑time. Dynamic (hybrid) working. Part‑time positions may be considered. Security clearance: British citizen required; successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
We are looking for a Systems Engineering Lead to promote and drive best practice across the Data Link Systems group. You will shape how we approach our programmes, considering the needs and expectations of customers, the capability of technology and third‑party suppliers.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll provide education, training and consultancy‑style system design support to key programmes, tailored to their needs so that maximum benefit is obtained from best‑practice use.
In this role you will support the development of team members as they build their Systems Engineering knowledge, assessing core Systems Engineering techniques and delivering process improvement and behavioural change to teams.
You will ensure a full lifecycle approach to system design within programme teams, influence the Systems Engineering approach of new business, support established programmes in tailoring processes and shape direction during transitions between phases.
You’ll work with key partners in MBDA UK (programmes and departments) to improve collaboration from a systems engineering viewpoint and engage with stakeholders across all MBDA National sites to align processes and approaches.
