We’ll fully invest in you and your career at BPL by covering the cost of your qualifications to give you all the knowledge you need to begin your teaching career, including:

• Swim England Level 1
• Swim England Level 2
• NRASTC (National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches) or NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)

You’ll start with us as a member of the team, working across the leisure centre, shadowing and assisting around the teaching pool, gaining real‑world experience as you work toward becoming fully qualified.

This is a great way to learn skills on the job and find your own teaching style with the support of other amazing teachers. Once you’re ready and have the certificates to go with your new found skills, you’ll dive in and get the opportunity to teach classes of your own!

Terms & Conditions of the role:

• You’ll join our team as a Team member for the duration of your training at £12.21 per hour.
• Upon successful completion of all training your role of a Coach will begin at £17.00 per hour with the opportunity to increase to £18.56 per hour as you develop your skills.
• All training provided by BPL will be fully funded in line with a learner agreement stating a 18 months minimum employment term. Total cost of your qualifications for the role are around £1500.
• All successful applicants must demonstrate that they are able to swim prior to enrolment with a water/depth test.
• Average training period to become fully qualified will be 3 Months. Course dates are listed below.
• We will provide a full NPLQ qualification enabling employees to complete Lifeguard shifts as part of their role should this be of any interest. Lifeguards must undertake a Monthly staff training to uphold this qualification. For those who would like to focus on their career as a teacher NPLQ is not required and a NRASTC qualification will be offered. This will be discussed with you to obtain your preference.
