Our work is practical, data-driven, and compliance-focused, covering ESOS)||( SECR), carbon accounting, and ISO management systems.
We are a small, experienced and growing consultancy. We pride ourselves on a culture where everyone contributes directly to live client delivery and takes responsibility and accountability for their work.
We are seeking a Sustainability & Energy Consultant who is ready to take on real responsibility. This role is designed for someone who already has practical experience in energy audits, data analysis and carbon calculations and is keen to build depth and breadth of experience.
You will work closely with everyone in our team including our senior consultants, leading site visits, navigating complex datasets, and taking ownership of defined workstreams. This is a role for someone who wants to move beyond junior-level support and become a versatile, delivery-focused consultant.
You will be expected to support live projects from.gdx from the outset, including site work, data analysis, and client-facing delivery, with guidance and oversight from senior consultants.
Reporting to the Operations Director you will work closely with other senior consultants and the Managing Director, supporting delivery across multiple client projects and gradually taking ownership of allocated clients and defined workstreams.
You will have a relevant degree or be post-apprentice qualified or equivalent practical experience in energy, engineering, sustainability, or a related field, and be comfortable working in a practical, delivery-focused consultancy environment.
You will have hands‑on experience of energy audits, carbon calculations, site-based work, ISO and carbon reduction strategy, and be keen to build depth and responsibility across live client projects. Professional qualifications in energy, carbon, or ISO-related disciplines (for example lead auditor/ practitioner or ESOS assessor) is advantageous but not essential.
You will be organised and reliable, with the ability to manage your own workload, support multiple projects, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues. You should be comfortable working directly with clients, contributing positively to meetings, and following work through to completion. Strong Excel and data‑handling skills are essential, alongside clear written communication and confidence discussing technical findings.
Just as important is your attitude and approach. We are a small, growing consultancy where everyone supports one another, and takes ownership. You will bring a positive, can‑do attitude, energy and enthusiasm for both the work and the team. You will be adaptable, curious and willing to turn your hand to a range of tasks, as well as being comfortable working in a collaborative environment without rigid role boundaries.
Progression in this role is based on demonstrated delivery and your ability to take ownership of workstreams, rather than time served.
As a growing SME, we offer an environment where your career can evolve alongside the business. While the natural path is toward a Senior Consultant position, there is scope to build deeper expertise in line with emerging industry frameworks and client needs. This includes the opportunity to develop into lead roles within our ISO management systems workstream or emerging areas such as UK ETS, CSRD, and TCFD.
We invest time and trust in our people and value those who want to grow with us.
Please submit your CV and a detailed covering note outlining your practical and relevant experience and why you are interested in working in a small, delivery‑focused consultancy.
