Requirements – What you’ll do
  • Ensuring the Club’s playing surfaces are maintained and presented to the highest possible standards using the latest turfcare machinery, equipment, and techniques.
  • All aspects of cricket ground preparation and renovation including deploying rain covers, mowing, marking out, erection and dismantling of practice nets and the operation of pedestrian and tractor mounted machinery and groundstaff as required enabling the smooth running of matchdays and non‑matchdays.
  • Routine maintenance of turfcare machinery.
  • Maintain health and safety in the workplace and comply with company procedures and guidelines.
  • All other duties consistent with grounds preparation at an industry leading sporting venue.
Requirements – The Person

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and qualities.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Possession of a Level 2 qualification in Sports Turf Maintenance or an equivalent recognised certification.
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining sports pitches to a high standard.
  • Experience in working within a professional sporting environment or institution.
  • PA1, PA2 & PA6 Safe use of Pesticide qualifications.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
Skills and Attributes
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to delivering work of the highest standard with attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to working hours, including availability for evenings and weekends in line with the demands of the cricket season.
  • Genuine passion for sport, with a clear understanding of the operational requirements of cricket fixtures and seasonal demands.
Benefits
  • £16.52 per hour (March – September 2026)
  • 5% Club Bonus Scheme
  • 23 days holiday increasing to 28 days based on length of service
  • Non‑Contributory Pension scheme / Private Health Care
  • Membership for domestic games, Tickets for International Games and loads more.
