We are looking for an experienced support worker to care for a 6‑year‑old boy who has cerebral palsy and additional needs. The support worker will assist our client at home with all of his personal care, nutritional, medical and leisure needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal and medical care for the child.
  • Assist with nutrition and feeding.
  • Support medical appointments and health management.
  • Plan and facilitate leisure and educational activities.
  • Maintain communication with the care team.
Requirements
  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle (client location is not accessible by public transport).
  • Prior experience in support roles with children (e.g., specialist nanny, school‑based TA, paediatric healthcare assistant).
  • Experience working with children is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check and two excellent references will be pursued.
  • Female support worker is a genuine occupational requirement (Gender considered a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010).
  • The employer does not offer a visa sponsorship scheme.
Schedule & Hours
  • 19–26 hours per week on a rota basis.
  • 06:30–09:30 (four hours paid) weekdays.
  • 15:30–20:30 weekdays.
  • 10‑hour daytime shift every other Saturday (times vary).
  • Additional hours available during school holidays and occasional Sundays.
Rates
  • £17.00 per hour for weekday day shift.
  • £19.00 per hour for weekend day shift.
  • Morning weekday shifts paid as four hours for a three hour shift.
