Join to apply for the Support Worker role at ISWP Assessment Services. This role is based in Reading, Berkshire, with opportunities for day and waking night shifts within a Residential Family Assessment Unit.
We are looking for experienced, reliable individuals who can offer emotional and practical support to our residents in a family-centred, professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Keep clear and accurate records.
- Demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Be an active team player and use initiative when needed.
- Commit to good practice, teamwork, equal opportunity, and challenging discriminatory practices.
- Maintain a clean and tidy unit, adhere to the cleaning rota, and encourage resident participation where appropriate.
- Maintain high-quality report logs as required.
- Promote professional family residential support work as expected by Flourishing Families Parental Assessment Centre and Ofsted.
- Be competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Respect confidentiality of information learned during employment.
- Report concerns to the Manager/Team Leader on duty.
- Complete all required face-to-face online and mandatory training.
- Be part of a professional team caring for residents; contribute to Care Plans development.
- Contribute to a secure, stable, supportive environment for parents and children, respecting health, culture, religion, race, identity and lifestyle.
- Safeguard and promote welfare of all residents.

- Role requires flexibility beyond a standard 9-5 schedule
Education and Experience
- Preferable: NVQ (Children) Level 3 or above.
- Preferable experience in Residential Family Support in a mother and baby unit, Community Family Support Work, or related Local Authority family support roles.
