Our team and the individuals you'll support

Craigewan is a purpose-built facility which is home to 11 individuals with learning disabilities, all living in their own self-contained flats. The great thing about this job is that two days are never the same. As a Support Practitioner you'll provide support with all elements of normal everyday living, including cooking, housework, finances, personal care and medication.

You'll also play a huge part in supporting individuals to reach their goals and play an active part in their local community. Some of their hobbies and interests include baking, arts & crafts, hair & beauty treatments, pool, model trains & boats, walking, swimming & attending social events and concerts.

About You

At Cornerstone we don’t recruit on experience and qualifications. We’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you’ll need to build a career within the Health & Social Care sector. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your yearly SSSC registration fees too!

All we'll need you to bring is:
  • A full UK manual driving license as the people we support have their own mobility cars
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • A caring attitude and approach
  • A positive approach to learning
  • An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
  • The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus too!)
  • A full driving license with a minimum of 1 year’s experience on the roads to allow you drive the people we support's mobility cars
Shift Patterns

Your hours will usually be spread over 4 or 5 of 7 days will include early mornings, days and evenings. Public holidays and weekends would also form part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
