About the role

You will be working within our Repairs Department to deliver repairs across multiple sites and trades and will be responsible supervising a trades team who deliver high standard repairs to Housing properties across the City. You will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to mentor and lead tradespeople, providing support and supervision and managing all aspects of health and safety, technical compliance and line management.

The service currently has a considerable backlog of outstanding repairs and you will play a key role in tackling this work and being proactive in motivating the teams to achieve targets and deadlines to realise these goals.

This is an opportunity to develop your line management skills whilst supporting a diverse team of tradespeople. Our focus on customer service makes this work rewarding as we are able to deliver housing improvements to residents across our city.

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic trade supervisors with backgrounds in plumbing, carpentry, general building and roofing.

In return for your skills and hard work, we offer:

  • A standard working week of 42.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 08.00 – 17.00 Part-time hours are also available.
  • A full induction with job shadowing and on-going mentoring and development

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only. For part time applicants, where your working week is less than the council’s basic 37 hour week, contracted overtime rated pay will not form part of your working hours. This is because overtime rated pay is payable for hours worked in excess of the council’s basic 37 hour week. Your starting salary will be pro rata based on the basic annual salary elements of pay between £39,862 & £42,839.
