A leading engineering firm in Wakefield is looking for a summer placement for their 2026 Early Careers cohort. This opportunity will allow you to work on live Bridge Engineering projects and enhance your technical, communication, and teamwork skills. The placement lasts for 6-12 weeks starting in June/July 2026, designed for students pursuing a career in Civil or Structural Engineering. The firm offers hybrid working conditions with training and mentoring from experienced consultants.
As part of our 2026 Early Careers cohort we are keen to hire a summer placement to start around June/July 2026
We give you the opportunity to really make a difference by contributing to real world, live projects in your time with us. You will be given an insight into one of our business sectors which will provide you with an excellent platform to see and be part of our collaborative company. We will look to enhance your communication and teamwork capabilities but also focus on technical development too. Whilst you are with us you will benefit from training and mentoring from a range of our consultants within our teams.

Our Summer placements normally last for 6-12 weeks and start in June/July time. This placement specifically focused on Bridge Engineering. This sector is essential in ensuring our Bridges are designed well and safely, whilst ensuring sustainable materials are used to protect the environment. As a result, we would expect you to have a keen interest in pursuing Civil Structures/Bridge Engineering as a career.
For this placement you will be working on a hybrid basis, and we are looking for you to come from a Civil or Structural Engineering study background to be considered.
