Substance Misuse Nurse – Harrogate

Are you an experienced Substance Misuse Nurse looking to make a difference in a specialist healthcare setting? Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for a dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse to join a reputable service in Harrogate on a 6-month temporary contract, with a possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your skills within a dynamic team and support individuals on their recovery journey.

Job Title: Substance Misuse Nurse
Position: Contract (6 months, with potential for extension)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Pay Rate: £32.00 Ltd per hour
Start Date: Immediate
Candidate Responsibilities
  • Delivering comprehensive assessments, care planning, and clinical interventions for clients with substance misuse needs
  • Acting as a senior clinical decision-maker and providing expert guidance to nursing and support staff
  • Supervising, mentoring, and appraising staff to support ongoing professional development
  • Promoting evidence-based, trauma-informed, person-centred care approaches
  • Collaborating with psychosocial, mental health, and physical healthcare teams to ensure integrated service delivery
  • Leading the development and review of clinical protocols, policies, and pathways aligned with national standards such as NICE
  • Participating in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities
  • Ensuring accurate data management via systems like SystmOne and NDTMS, maintaining compliance with CQC standards
  • Coordinating opioid substitution therapy (OST), including detox planning and medication reviews
  • Maintaining effective partnerships with prisons, community services, and stakeholders for seamless patient care
  • Managing workforce planning, rota management, and ensuring safe staffing levels
  • Upholding safeguarding, confidentiality, and information governance standards
  • Facilitating service user involvement and peer-led recovery initiatives
  • Supporting research projects, audits, and reflective practice to enhance service quality
