Haldane Fisher are a leading timber and builder’s merchants and have a reputation for innovation and excellence within their field. The company believes in their people and strives to provide excellent and reliable service to their customers.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Stock/Customer Service Advisor based at our Heckmondwike Branch. We are looking for someone to support our small team who will maximise sales and build good relationships with customers.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide excellent advice and assistance to customers – using industry knowledge and product expertise
  • Developing a positive working relationships
  • Have a collaborative approach with all internal departments – ensuring effective communication and operational excellence for the customer
  • Price customer enquiries and return same within required time
  • Achieve monthly sales and profit targets
  • Follow up quotations to a conclusion and properly record outcome
  • Achieve the specified order quotation to completion rate at the best possible margin.
  • Develop knowledge to become an expert in product areas and sales techniques.
  • Order stock and schedule based on demand and usage
  • Receipting goods in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure negative stocks are reviewed daily and rectified
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits
  • Resolve supplier queries and unresolved supplier returns
  • Review and analyse inter branch transfers.
  • Management of specials in stock to ensure these are reduced.
  • Ensure rolling counts are completed in branch in line with schedules and discrepancies are investigated and fixed where appropriate.
  • Review and action aged stock reports to reduce levels by selling or returning to supplier
  • Manage correspondence by answering emails and sorting mail
