A non-profit organization is seeking a Staff Worker in Lancaster to develop international student ministries alongside churches. This entry-level role requires strong communication and strategic thinking skills for effective ministry. A degree is necessary, along with a passion for cross-cultural engagement. The position offers a pro-rata salary based on £31,650 for a full-time (35 hours) commitment, with fundraising as part of the role.
Friends International is an evangelical mission agency dedicated to supporting and equipping churches to reach international students for Christ. We currently have 80 Field Staff and Associates working in 35 university towns and cities across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Centre Team Leader, you will fulfil a vital role in working with the local team to develop international student ministries with and alongside evangelical churches in the city. This will involve mobilising volunteers and liaising with church leaders to take the ministry forward. Personal evangelism and discipleship with international students will also be a key component of the work, as you seek to provide a model for others. Please view the downloadable documents for further details.
Up to full-time (35 hours), dependent on level of available finance (i.e. sufficient money for your own salary and work-related expenses from mission giving).
The salary will be pro rata of £31,650 per annum (prior to annual salary review) for a 35-hour week. With training and support, the post holder will raise the costs of salary, employment, training and work‑related costs by developing a network of personal prayer and financial partners (churches and individuals).
Please email your CV and covering letter to: Diane Smith, recruitment@friendsinternational.uk. Your cover letter should include specific examples of any student ministry experience you have, especially in a cross‑cultural context, and any experience of raising money to fund your Christian ministry.
Applications will be considered as we receive them. A local recruiting manager may contact you for an informal conversation before asking you to complete a formal application form.
