An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic, experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse (RMN/RNLD) to work within The Regional Affective Disorders inpatient Service on Gibside Ward.
The Regional Affective Disorders Service (RADS) provides specialist assessments and treatments to people with difficult-to-treat mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and major depressive disorders. The ward team delivers interventions for patients with complex conditions, optimising drug treatments beyond the usual guidelines. Gibside ward is a 10‑bed unit nursing both male and female patients and works closely with the Addictions Team to support patients through detoxification.
Successful applicants must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high‑quality, safe patient care, an interest in working within the Affective disorder and detoxification service, and a current NMC registration.
You will work in a highly supportive team and will be encouraged to access training opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills.
Act as a Primary/Named Nurse within a multi‑disciplinary team, developing collaborative, needs‑based care plans through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person‑centred, evidence‑based nursing care.
Active involvement in the health and wellbeing of staff and service users.
Be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers, working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.
Contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.
Contribute to the education and development of the workforce and students.
Contribute to staff appraisals and support personal development plans.
Safely administer medication following Trust policies and practice guidelines.
Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
