Description

The Glasgow team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Solicitor into their Motor Injury team. We specialise in insurance litigation and professional risk, commercial dispute resolution, contentious and uncontentious real estate, and commercial law.

What you will do?
  • Reporting to the team partner, you will work in a team dedicated to the defence of claims arising from road traffic accidents.
  • You will have a varied caseload of litigated cases and occasional pre‑litigation claims with an appropriate level of supervision.
  • You will provide a timely, professional and high‑quality service to clients in the management of the high volume litigated motor cases, in strict adherence to the Service Level Agreements.
  • You will act as a point of contact for clients in relation to Scottish claims.
  • You will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of your caseload, including billing, WIP and debt management and accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and information.
  • You will be required to handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols.
  • From time to time you may also require to engage in business development activity on behalf of the Motor team e.g. attending marketing events and client training.
  • The role will involve supervision and nurturing the talent of junior fee earners.
Who you are

The ideal candidate will have a litigation background. Knowledge and experience of handling personal injury claims is desirable but not essential.

  • 0-2 year PQE Solicitor (if your PQE falls outside this it should not preclude you from applying).
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Experience of working within a pressurised and deadline driven environment with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Have an outstanding eye for detail.
  • Be a confident communicator and negotiator.
  • Have excellent relationship and client handling skills.
  • Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues.

  • Be able to demonstrate alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
