The successful candidate will go above and beyond, be flexible with out‑of‑hours work when needed, and be able to travel occasionally to our UK and non‑UK offices.

Role

Software Engineer III specializing in Adobe Commerce, building and maintaining scalable, secure, high‑performance eCommerce solutions, and supporting rollout of new web servers using cloud services.

Reports To: Ecommerce Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Adobe Commerce modules, themes, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to deploy and manage web servers in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and security across the Adobe Commerce stack (PHP, MySQL, RabbitMQ).
  • Participate in architectural planning, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across front‑end and back‑end systems.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Product, QA, and Design teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
Requirements
  • Experience in software engineering, with a focus on web and eCommerce development.
  • Deep expertise in Adobe Commerce, including custom module development and theming.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and MySQL.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and third‑party integrations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and server provisioning.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Git.
  • Experience with Linux‑based environments, Nginx/Apache, and monitoring tools.
DevOps Skills
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of automated deployment, configuration management, and log aggregation.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and eCommerce environments.
Required Soft Skills
