A leading financial data provider in London is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to enhance automated testing systems. This role is vital to ensure products are robust and reliable, supporting major financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python testing, CI/CD processes, and collaboration with development teams. London Hybrid, 1 day per week in the Liverpool Street office
We’re looking for an experienced SDET to help us strengthen and scale our automated testing systems across complex microservice and data‑driven environments. This role is key to ensuring our products are robust, reliable and ready to deliver best‑in‑class insights to some of the world’s leading financial institutions.
Building, maintaining and improving automated testing frameworks (primarily in Python using Pytest) for the scraping platform
Designing and executing test strategies that align with team goals and product requirements
Maintaining documentation on test coverage and plans
Collaborating with Developers, Data Engineers and Analysts to uphold quality standards across releases
Contributing to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes and monitoring improvements

The Data Ingest team is the oldest team at FXC Intelligence, existing in some form for over six years now. We provide the platform for collecting unstructured data from open third‑party websites and mobile apps, and make sure that the data collected corresponds to companies data quality standards and SLAs. As the business grows and requirements change, so do we – the platform has survived several iterations and is currently in the process of being migrated to its fourth generation. The team also maintains over 200 scrapers for different providers of data, which power most of the company’s critical datasets
You have 3+ years of commercial experience, including at least 6 months in QA automation or SDET roles
You’ve worked on testing microservices, databases, data pipelines, or LLM solutions (not just UI or API automation)
You’re comfortable coding in Python and using Pytest
You’ve created testing approaches or led improvements in QA processes
You have an understanding of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI
Experience with Pandas, NumPy or machine learning concepts
You’ve had hands‑on experience with AWS (eg. Glue, Lambdas, S3)
Knowledge of SQL and database testing
Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ
Exposure to monitoring tools like ELK or Prometheus
Development: Python, Pytest, Pydantic, Pandas
Data and communication: Redis, Postgresql, Clickhouse, RabbitMQ, Kafka
Infra: Jenkins, GitlabCI, ArgoCD, k8s, AWS
Tools: ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, Qase
