With 20,000 employees in over 70 locations worldwide, we provide components, fuel, and control systems for nuclear power plants, along with a full suite of reactor services — all focused on improving safety, performance, and sustainability. Backed by EDF Group (80.5%) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (19.5%), we're driving the future of clean energy. Here in the UK, our team is already 400 strong — and growing. As we expand our service offerings across the UK nuclear industry, we're aiming to reach 600 dedicated professionals in 2026. Now's your chance to join a company that's shaping the energy transition — where your expertise will matter, your growth will be supported, and your work will help power generations to come.

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Standard Software and AI Development Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is pivotal in advancing our R&D projects, particularly those focused on automation, simulation, and the integration of AI-driven solutions within engineering workflows. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and support advanced engineering toolboxes and automated processes, leveraging both proprietary and open-source technologies.

  • Design and implement engineering calculation tools as part of the AI development within the function, ensuring robust, reliable, and scalable solutions.
  • Integrate established tools and best practices from the Software and AI communities into engineering workflows, promoting standardization and innovation.
  • Incorporate open-source contributions, particularly from the Scientific Python community, into engineering-related workflows to enhance capability and efficiency.
  • Automate the management of libraries and specifications within 3D model suites such as PDM Vault and Plant 3D, streamlining data handling and reducing manual intervention.
  • Support the integration of lessons learned in automated platforms and their continuous improvement.
Support to Team Development
  • Train and support engineering teams in the effective use of AI and related tools, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technological adoption.
Cross-functional support
  • Provide support to other business functions for the development and implementation of automated workflows, depending on workload and business priorities.
Other duties
  • Uphold and promote Framatome commitment to nuclear safety and environmental protection.
