Social Worker – Mental Health Team (Walsall, UK)

Hourly Rate: £28.40

Contract Type: Full-Time, Ongoing

Hours: 37 per week, 09:00–17:30 (based at the Civic Centre 2 days per week with flexible working on Tuesdays and Thursdays)

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Social Worker to join Walsall Council’s Mental Health Team. This ongoing locum role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, supporting individuals with mental health needs while enjoying the flexibility and variety that locum work provides.

What You Will Do:

Undertake Care Act duties, including Section 9 assessments, Section 27 reviews, and Section 42 enquiries.

Support Section 117 aftercare and comply with relevant legislation including the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983/07, and Equality Act 2010.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic and personalised care.

Develop tailored care plans to promote recovery, mental well‑being, and independence.

Engage with clients and their families, offering guidance, support, and advocacy on mental health matters.
