Job Title: Senior Social Worker – Children’s Services

Salary: £TBC Hourly

This is an excellent opportunity to join Lambeth’s Children’s Services as a Senior Social Worker, playing a key role in driving positive change for children, families, and carers. What You Will Do
  • Lead on complex statutory children’s cases, applying advanced professional judgement and ensuring practice aligns with legal, policy, and procedural frameworks.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments using the assessment framework to identify children’s needs and the appropriate level of intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to develop strong, effective safeguarding arrangements.
  • Manage a demanding and diverse caseload, providing expert guidance in situations involving multi‑agency involvement and complex family dynamics.
  • Prepare high-quality written reports, including court reports, and represent the Council in legal proceedings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policy, and best practice relevant to children and families.
  • Contribute to service improvement and mentor less experienced colleagues where required.
