Locum Adult Social Worker – Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS)

Working Pattern: 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday)
We are seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker to join the Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS) in Hastings. This ongoing locum opportunity offers an excellent work-life balance with a four-day working week and a hybrid working arrangement. You will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex needs while providing senior-level input and professional leadership within a specialist forensic service.

Manage a complex caseload requiring high-level professional judgement, including assessment, risk management, support planning, commissioning, and reviews
Provide senior and specialist social work input within a multi-disciplinary forensic team
Supervise and support social workers, resource officers, assessors, students, and trainees
Identify, manage, and elevate safeguarding concerns in partnership with relevant agencies
Apply legal frameworks and departmental procedures to support outcome-focused planning
Produce high-quality reports and present evidence in statutory forums
Lead and contribute to service development using evidence-based practice
Support the Practice Manager with staff development reviews and training needs analysis
Deliver casework supervision and consultancy to staff and students
Coordinate responses to referrals, assessments, and care planning processes
Act as Social Supervisor for individuals subject to the Mental Health Act
Prepare reports and attend Mental Health Tribunals and Managers’ Hearings
Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with Trust policies
Liaise with hospitals to support discharge planning and care package development
Participate in clinical improvement initiatives, audits, and service evaluations
