Driver with own vehicle essential.
Toby is a happy, fun loving, affectionate 6‑year‑old boy who lives with his parents and older sister. He loves being outdoors, playgrounds especially the swings and trampolining and spending time on his iPad. He enjoys food, especially snacks, pizza, pasta, and visiting McDonalds, and a slice of cake. He loves being in water, but you have to be vigilant as he has no sense of danger when outside especially near rivers or streams.
Toby has been diagnosed with ASD, Sensory Processing Disorder and Global Developmental Delay and is non‑verbal. He is starting to use PECS and will take your hand to communicate when he wants to show you. He wears nappies so there will be personal care involved and when out and about must always have his hand held and supervised closely at all times.
• Provide personal care and supervision for Toby, ensuring his safety, especially near water and rivers.
• Drive Toby and your own vehicle to appointments and outings; mileage will be reimbursed.
• Assist with daily routines, communication using PECS, and simple tasks such as shopping or form filling as needed.
• Genuine interest in working with children, experience caring for children with autism and/or learning disabilities.
• Valid UK driving licence and own transport.
• Willingness to undergo satisfactory DBS check and provide references.
• Must have permission to work in the UK at the time of starting.
This vacancy will close as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.
At the time of starting employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
