A major public transport operator in Weymouth is looking for a Skilled Mechanic to enhance their vehicle maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum Level 3 NVQ and be able to undertake vehicle diagnostics and servicing. Qualifications

  • Possess a full driving licence; a PCV licence is beneficial.
  • Experienced in vehicle safety inspections and servicing.
  • Ability to maintain and develop technical skills required.

  • Perform vehicle fault diagnostics and safety inspections.
  • Conduct breakdowns, servicing, and repairs per standards.
  • Comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.

About the Role - Skilled Mechanic

Join us as a Skilled Mechanic at our Weymouth depot and we'll take your engineering skills to the next level.   • Vehicle fault diagnostics, vehicle safety inspections, breakdowns, servicing and repairs in accordancewith FirstBus Standard Engineering Operating Procedures
  • To fully comply with all HS&E legislation along with Group Policies
  • To fully comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required

Location: Weymouth

Working Hours: 39 hours per week, working 5 days over 7 on a rotation of early and late shifts

Pay: £16.76 p/h £33,989 p/a - with a shift payment of £14.53 per day over 5 days equalling around a potential additional £3000 per year

About You
  • A minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2)
  • Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering Environment
  • A flexible approach to working hours
  • A full driving licence is essential, a PCV licence would be beneficial
