Job summary

A large health system in Scotland is seeking a qualified radiographer to manage efficient radiology services across multiple hospital sites. Key responsibilities include ensuring high-quality imaging and adherence to national targets. Candidates must possess HCPC registration and significant experience in diagnostic radiography. Overview

NHS Glasgow Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is the largest byť health system and teaching Board in Scotland with an annual budget of circa £4.4 billion (2022/23) and employs around 41,000 staff. We provide the full range of Acute, Mental Health, Community and Primary Care services to a diverse population of 1.3 million people in six local authority areas. Regional and national services are also provided across a range of clinical specialties.

Responsibilities

The post holder will manage and provide an efficient, effective radiology service at hospital sites including Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (Major Trauma Centre), Institute of Neurological Sciences, Gartnavel General Hospital and New Victoria Hospital. The role includes assurance of high‑quality images and a safe environment for staff and patients. In conjunction with the sector superintendent radiographer and general management programmer, you will assist with the delivery of National and local targets such as waiting‑time guarantees, and internal organisation policy.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • HCPC Registration (mandatory)
  • D.C.R. or BSC in Diagnostic Radiography/Imaging Services
  • Relevant practical experience of 8 years postgraduate, including 3 years at Band 7 level or in charge of a specialist modality such as CT, Plain Film, or MR
  • Evidence of recent CPD Knowledge
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the post
  • Understand the patient workflow of the department
  • Good knowledge of HIS, RIS & PACS
  • Good working knowledge of IT packages and a high degree of computer literacy
  • Extensive experience and understanding of imaging equipment
  • Working knowledge of HR issues
