Overview

EKFB is a joint venture bringing together international, market leading expertise from four civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. EKFB is delivering civil engineering works across an 80km section of HS2 between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood, with a project scope including 15 viaducts, 5km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 67 overbridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation. We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our Engineering team based in Calvert. The Site Engineer is responsible on site for other junior engineers and assists in the construction operations.

You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.

You will be responsible for working with other members of the setting-out team and for the performance and development of junior engineers. You will identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. You will monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure their works are completed to the contractual requirements. You will ensure the team has all current information and resources required to carry out their duties and assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.

About You
  • HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
  • Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage is essential.
  • Must have own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas; full driving licence required.
  • Competencies: SMSTS or SSSTS; CSCS White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager or Gold - Supervisor.
