Site Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Site Team at QPA and learn how to maintain a School Site. We are seeking someone who is proactive and has a hands‑on approach to your work. Join our dedicated Site Team and you will work as part of the team responsible for the maintenance, security and efficient operation of the school premises and grounds, ensuring high standards of health, safety, and compliance are consistently met. This is a physically active role requiring strong practical skills, initiative, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will have
  • Experience of site assistant duties in a general capacity
  • Basic handy‑person skills, able to carry out minor repairs including: some simple plumbing and joinery work
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Substantial knowledge of Health and Safety, including COSHH
  • Ability to problem solve and use own initiative
  • An understanding of safeguarding and willingness to undertake training relevant to the role
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training
  • Experience working in a school environment — desirable
  • Current valid full driving licence to be able to drive the school minibus when required — desirable
Job specifics

Start date: asap

Salary: AS 4 -12 £25,495‑£28,907 dependent on experience

Job role: Permanent, Full‑time, 52 weeks per year (25 days annual leave plus 3 days between Christmas & New Year)

Working Hours 37 hours per week, Monday‑Friday (2‑week rota system between the hours of 6:45 am and 6:15 pm)

Shift 1: 6:45 am—2:45 pm (Mon‑Thurs), 6:45 am—2:15 pm (Fri)

Shift 2: 10:15 am—6:15 pm (Mon‑Thurs), 10:45 am—6:15 pm (Fri)
