Overview

Join to apply for the Sister/Charge Nurse Critical Care Outreach role at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity to join our Critical Care Outreach Team. Critical Care Outreach provides cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The role offers a rewarding acute experience in the management of the acutely ill and deteriorating patient in the ward environment. We are looking for an applicant with Critical Care nursing experience who has an interest in critical care outreach / acute illness management.

Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care and support to ward staff with patient management and education in identifying deteriorating patients.
  • Support data collection, audits and reporting to support NICE recommendations for acute illness management.
  • Monitor and implement the National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) within electronic observations (E-OBS).
  • Collect data to enable Trust performance monitoring and relate outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Essential: Has undertaken a Critical Care Module
  • Desirable: PACR/PADRAP course
  • Desirable: Step 1-3 completed
Skills
  • Essential: Band 5 experience 2 years or more
  • Essential: Additional significant experience within a critical care setting
  • Desirable: Recent Band 6 experience in critical care
  • Desirable: ILS/ALS/PILS
