Overview Of Role

Location: Biggleswade

Shift: Panama shift consisting of 12‑hour shifts, 2 weeks of rostered days and then 2 weeks of nights on a 4‑week rotating pattern.

Your Purpose

The Shift Engineer is responsible for undertaking maintenance, repairs and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, plant and facilities to ensure the delivery of production volumes and efficiencies whilst driving continuous improvement within an environment that has high safety and quality standards. This role will involve working closely with the production department to identify and resolve safety, quality or downtime issues with assets in a timely manner. Completion of and updating of proactive maintenance tasks is an important aspect to this role.

Key Accountabilities

• To work safely by applying sound engineering principles and safe systems of work e.g. isolations, Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, whilst working across a diverse range of equipment and associated hazards.
• Maintain, timely repair using root cause analysis and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and plant and facilities to ensure the delivery of production volumes.
• Provide expert technical expertise with respect to training, coaching and mentoring of Machine Minders, Operators, Junior Engineers and Apprentices.
