About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Sheet Metal Engineer to join our Bournemouth-based Part 145 maintenance facility. Reporting to the Workshop Team Leader and Chief Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting Part 145 C‑rated mechanical and structural component maintenance and repair activities, as well as Part 21 manufacturing tasks, ensuring the effective delivery of customer requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in aircraft sheet metal work and component repair to join a high‑performing engineering team in a dynamic aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble aircraft components from kits in line with technical drawings and specifications using various assembly methods (solid and blind riveting, bolting, etc.).
  • Manufacture metal detail components, applying bending and detail fitting techniques, and complete all relevant documentation.
  • Maintain and repair Draken and customer mechanical and structural components in accordance with manufacturer and company procedures.
  • Interpret and work from complex technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure all work complies with Part 145 standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised working environment.
  • Ensure all tooling and test equipment are maintained, calibrated, and correctly documented.
  • Liaise effectively with other departments to ensure efficient task completion.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and highlight tooling or equipment needs.
Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sheet metal work within a Part 145 aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Previous experience in aircraft maintenance, base, or workshop environments is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structural repairs and component manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good technical English (written and spoken) and solid mathematical ability.
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Committed to working safely and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Must be medically fit to perform daily engineering duties.
  • Willingness to work shift patterns as required by the business.
  • Ability to obtain UK security clearance and meet ITAR requirements.
  • UK Passport required.
