A local police department is seeking an Investigation Officer for the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. This role involves managing serious road traffic collisions, ensuring proper evidence handling, and interviewing witnesses, including vulnerable populations. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) - Investigation Officer within Specialist Operations
To manage investigations into the most serious road traffic collisions. The role will entail the identifying, initiating and allocation of lines of investigation and to ensure that protocols and procedures in obtaining such evidence are adhered to. They will be responsible for ensuring that any evidence obtained is recorded, secured, and preserved in a timely and appropriate manner to contribute to the effective investigation of a serious road traffic collision.
A requirement will be to obtain statements from witnesses including significant witnesses in line with force policy. Interview can include vulnerable adult witnesses or child and undertaking the interviewing and processing of suspects.
