Senior Underwriter - Property D&F Open Market

Department: Underwriting

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: London

Description

The primary purpose of the role is to provide underwriting duties for Lancashire UK for Lancashire’s lines of business.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop broker relationships for this line of business
  • Maintain a strong focus on core client/broker relationships
  • Underwrite risks for your line of business within your underwriting authority and the agreed business plan
  • Receive submissions from brokers, undertake full risk analysis, complete pre-underwriting documentation
  • Agree endorsements within your underwriting authority
  • Ensure risks offered and bound are within modelled tolerances or that exceptions are approved
  • Work in collaboration with group underwriting teams
  • Assist and guide junior members of the team in underwriting processes
  • Produce analytics and management information reports as required
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and research work as required
  • Experience writing Open Market business and knowledge of brokers in the specs
