The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Senior Social Media Manager to lead and elevate our social media presence. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing innovative social media strategies that changes the perception of our brand, engages our global followers, and win new business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the digital landscape, and ideally an expert on how challenger and start-up brands reach hypergrowth with social, UGC and influencer content at their heart. Our Senior Social Media Manager will have a proven track record of delivering impactful social media campaigns within a high-profile environment.

The work - Your 4 most important responsibilities
  1. Social Strategy & Planning: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the company’s overall marketing and communications objectives. This includes defining target audiences, platform-specific strategies, content pillars, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  2. Content Creation & Management: Oversee the creation of engaging, high-quality content across all social media platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn). Critically, you will manage the content calendar, thinking tactically about how we ride trends and events, as well as exploiting our commercial rights.
  3. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of social media executives and content creators. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, ensuring the team has the resources and support needed to succeed.
  4. Community Engagement & Growth: Develop and implement strategies to foster a vibrant and engaged online community. Monitor social media channels for mentions, sentiment, and trends, and proactively engage with ambassadors, influencers, and customers. Attract and drive potential and new audiences into our ecosystem to become loyal, engaged customers.

  • Growth & KPIs: Including traffic and revenue targets. Ultimately increasing CVR% of followers into customers.
  • Content Delivery: Seamless and professional delivery of engaging content across our social channels.
  • Content Strategy & Planning: The thought and meaning behind the content.
  • Influencer, ambassador and UGC (Content from our followers).
Capability - the skills and behaviours required to do this job well
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful social media strategies and campaigns that drive engagement, growth, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of all major social media platforms, their algorithms, best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Experience with social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content creation software.
  • A genuine passion for sports (preferably endurance sports), and an understanding of the health & fitness industry, and the science behind sports nutrition.
Performance – how you will know you are doing a great job
  • Engagement & Reach KPI’s (campaign based)
  • CVR% (followers into customers) & Revenue
  • NPS / Reputational KPI’s (Could be awareness based)

Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a personal performance plan that will enable you to continue improving your own performance and impact.

  • Demonstrable experience in managing social media for a high-profile organisation, ideally within the sports or health/fitness industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform strategic decision-making.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
