Overview

Senior Site Reliability Engineer role at Morgan Stanley. You will join the HashiVault squad to offer more services and a better user experience to our clients. The current squad has been running for 4 years with team members in New York, Montreal and Glasgow. We are expanding in EMEA and are seeking an SRE to foster ownership and independence, implement new features, address user requests, and reduce repeatable tasks. This role includes working on the push to Google Cloud which is due to go live in 2026.

What you will be doing

• You will be responsible for delivering Vault services to customers running in Google Cloud
• You will work with the Vault squad supporting Engineering & Operational tasks, ranging from service delivery, automation, DevOps tasks and supporting an on-call rota
• Work with the Vault squad & wider Technology stakeholders to improve services through automation scripting and effective observability solutions
• Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
• Onboard new tools to support business needs and integrate with the Morgan Stanley ecosystem
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and Agile ceremonies to help produce the best product
• Deliver knowledge sharing across the Vault squad & Data Protection chapter, providing documentation, presentations and internal postings

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• 7+ years of experience implementing technological solutions, managing applications and services in an enterprise environment
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of IaaC with Terraform
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of Helm
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of automation scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Solid communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

• Experience with HashiCorp Vault
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD
• GCP certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Professional Cloud Security Engineer
• Hashicorp certifications such as Terraform Associate, Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional, Vault Associate, or Vault Operations Professional
• Experience migrating application workloads into GCP and/or GKE
