Job summary

A leading telecommunications firm is seeking a Senior RFIC Design Engineer to lead the development of high-performance RFICs. The role requires a strong background in SiGe/SOI technologies and expertise in RF circuits. Qualifications

Overview

Senior RFIC Design Engineer – SiGe/SOI Technologies at Celestia Technologies

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of high-performance RFICs in SiGe/SOI for advanced communications applications.
• Bridge circuit-level design and full system performance; drive complex RFIC projects from concept to production.
• Design RF blocks (LNA, mixer, PA, VCO, switch, bias, PLL, etc.) and contribute to system-level integration challenges.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers; coordinate design activities across multiple projects; contribute to specification definition, project planning and technical reviews.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure specification adherence and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on RFIC design experience in SiGe and/or SOI processes.
• Proven expertise across multiple RF blocks – LNA, mixer, PA, VCO, switch, bias, PLL, etc.
• Strong background in RF system-level architecture and integration challenges.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and simulation tools: Cadence Virtuoso (schematic/layout), Calibre (DRC/LVS), Momentum or EMX (EM modelling), Keysight ADS (system-level and non-linear simulations).
• Good understanding of parasitics, packaging effects, substrate coupling and other high-frequency layout constraints.
• Experience with lab equipment – VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
• Strong leadership, planning and communication skills.
• Degree in electrical/electronic engineering (BSc required; MSc/PhD preferred).
