Senior Quantity Surveyor

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is looking for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Contract Administration Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of civil projects throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide bills of quantities, commercially assess tenders, manage the financial and contractual aspects of projects, assess CE’s, and prepare cost plans for grant bids. Additionally, the role involves procuring services of consultants and contractors, tracking changes throughout the project, and adjusting budgets accordingly on a variety of projects in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Requirements include a Level 6 or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or a relevant subject, and a professional qualification such as MRICS, MCIOB, ICE or equivalent, or evidence of progression towards such a qualification. The permanent full‑time position is based at the Council’s newly constructed, modern headquarters in Pontypridd. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with staff able to work from both home and the office. Employment hours are 37 hours a week, under a flexible working scheme, with 26 days holiday annually, increasing to 31 days after five years of service, plus eight public holidays.
