Job summary

A well-established construction business in Harlow is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage project cost planning and estimation. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience and strong contract management skills. A degree in Quantity Surveying is required, with excellent remuneration including a car allowance. Qualifications

Job description

I'm working with a well-established construction business based in Harlow, Essex that is looking for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and control throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Prepare and review tender documents, contracts and bills of quantities.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation and performance management.
  • Conduct valuations, variations and final account settlements.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and regular financial reporting to senior management.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers and design teams to ensure commercial success.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the surveying team.
About You
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (RICS membership desirable).
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within main contracting or similar construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Commercially astute, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites in the North.

Salary is £60,000 to £70,000 plus £6,000 Car or Car Allowance and an excellent benefits package.
