Join us in shaping the future of renewable energy. As a Senior Protection & Control Engineer, you will lead the design and integration of advanced Protection, Control and Metering systems for large-scale Offshore wind farms, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with international and industry standards. Your work will directly contribute to delivering clean energy to millions of homes.
Ensuring Protection, Control and Metering (PCM) systems are designed and delivered in accordance to regulations, industry relevant standards and best practices, you will manage and technically lead PCM systems from tendering through the execution process, collaborating with Contract Managers for terms and specifications to secure best value and minimise costs/risks.
Ensuring that designs developed by different Contractors involved are consistent, technically safe and coordinated with the rest of the Windfarm design, you will manage interfaces with Contractors, Consultants, and internal teams, providing professional advice on technical engineering aspects and risk levels to ensure cost effective solutions are identified.
Justifying technical decisions to ensure all assessments, recommendations and decisions are fully documented and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence is in place, you will lead and coordinate other Project Engineers, Consultants and Contractors where required to deliver the package for the project, ensuring adequate testing is passed before delivery of the system to site, including witness to inspections and FAT at Contractor’s facilities.
Supporting commissioning activities for key engineering design items, you will ensure assets are effectively commissioned for transfer into O&M phase.
With experience in Protection, Control and Metering system design and specification (protection philosophy, control architecture, I/O lists), you will display a proven track record in managing PCM contracts, including cost, risk and stakeholder coordination.
Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, you will be flexible to travel within the UK and overseas when required.
