Raytheon UK have a full time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Test Development Engineer to join our team on our Glenrothes and Livingston sites. This role focuses on the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. You’ll work on technologies that support Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and cutting-edge GPS Anti-Jamming systems across land, sea, air—and space.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
  • Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
  • Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
  • Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers
Required Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
  • Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Test software design experience
  • Able to support/debug system integration
  • Must be eligible Security Clearance to a minimum of BPSS and ideally SC
Desirable Experience
  • Significant test development experience in industry
  • Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools
  • Understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI
  • Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
  • Software Certification or detailed knowledge of NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#
  • Design of mix signal circuits
  • High speed serial networks
  • An appreciation of RF electronics
  • Knowledge of power supply design
